About my daily blogging experiment
I've been blogging daily for 14 days. Almost half a month has already passed, and I have a few things to say about this little experiment.
- I don't know that this suits me. The daily part, I mean. For the first few days, the ideas kept coming and I almost felt the urge to blog constantly. This can be easily explained as a micro-hyperfixation; nothing too crazy, but surely something fleeting and ephemeral;
- Now that it's been a while, I recognise that showing up every day isn't helping me with my original goal, which was to establish a writing practice. I show up daily because I said that I would, not because I have a routine;
- I'm still going to carry the experiment through its logical end, but after this, I think I'll blog more sparingly. While thinking about my friends' blogs, I realised that frequency isn't something I really value. I'm much more capitvated by someone who doesn't post super often, but has something insightful or surprising or interesting to say every time.
